Atlantic Records press release
March 15, 1994

Atlantic Records recently hosted a reception in New York City to celebrate the release of Tori Amos's new Atlantic album, "UNDER THE PINK." Held at the Rihga Royal hotel, the intimate gathering was one of a series of promotion/retail events being held across the country.

Tori's New York reception coincided with the explosive out-of-the-box performance of "UNDER THE PINK," the follow-up to her RIAA gold album "LITTLE EARTHQUAKES." The new album entered the pop album charts at #12 with a bullet, marking the week's highest debuting album; it has already soared past the gold mark in U.S. sales. "UNDER THE PINK" is #1 in the college and AAA radio listings nationwide; in the U.K., "UNDER THE PINK" debuted at #1 on the pop charts.

"God," the first radio track from "UNDER THE PINK," is #1 at Alternative radio outlets across the country; the song's companion video clip is an MTV "Buzz Clip" in Stress rotation and can also be seen on VH-1 and The Box.

Ms. Amos's headlining North American tour opens on March 20th in Seattle. In addition, she is slated to appear on The Late Show with David Letterman on March 29th.
